The Assam Public Services Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 1989 have been modified by the Assam government through a notification published on August 5th, 2019, changing the APSC CCE 2019 test patterns and syllabus. The Assam Public Service Commission’s Combined Competitive Examination will undergo some significant changes starting with the next administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per the new schemes of Assam Public Services Combined Competitive Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2019<\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n The written examination consists of two stages:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Preliminary Examination<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 Main Examination<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Written Examination <\/strong>and<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Interview test<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The written tests will include two qualifying Language papers in addition to eight standard essay\/objective papers with limited word counts (in the level of Class X). One essay paper, five papers on general studies, and two papers on any two optional subjects make up this course. To gauge the candidates’ proficiency in language communication, there will be two qualifying exams. The ultimate ranking of the candidates would be based on their marks received in the written and interview portions of the main exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n (i) Paper 1 (Essay)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Type of Paper: Essay <\/p>\n\n\n\n Marks: 250 <\/p>\n\n\n\n Duration in hours: 3<\/p>\n\n\n\n (ii) Paper 2 to 6<\/p>\n\n\n\n Type of Paper: General Studies<\/p>\n\n\n\n Marks: 250 for each paper <\/p>\n\n\n\n Duration in hours: 3 for each paper<\/p>\n\n\n\n General Studies I- covers Indian History, Heritage, Culture and Society and Geography of the India and World <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n General Studies II – covers Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and international relations <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n General Studies III – covers Technology; Economic Development, Biodiversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n General Studies IV – covers Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n General Studies V-covers History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Environment of Assam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n (iii) Paper 7<\/p>\n\n\n\n Type of Paper: Optional Subject, Paper I<\/p>\n\n\n\n Marks 250<\/p>\n\n\n\n Duration in hours: 3<\/p>\n\n\n\n (iv) Paper 8<\/p>\n\n\n\n Type of Paper. Optional Subject, Paper 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n Marks: 250<\/p>\n\n\n\n Duration in hours: 3<\/p>\n\n\n\n Total Marks: 2000<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Paper A <\/strong>(300 Marks – 3 Hours Duration)- Any one of the languages from Assamese, Bengali, Bodo<\/p>\n\n\n\n Candidates from Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong Districts who had not studied any of these languages in school shall be exempted from appearing for qualifying language papers. Mathematics<\/p>\n\n\n\n 17. Mechanical Engineering<\/p>\n\n\n\n 18. Medical Science<\/p>\n\n\n\n 19. Philosophy<\/p>\n\n\n\n 20. Physics<\/p>\n\n\n\n 21. Political Science and International Relations<\/p>\n\n\n\n 22. Psychology<\/p>\n\n\n\n 23. Public Administration<\/p>\n\n\n\n 24. Sociology<\/p>\n\n\n\n 25. StatisticS<\/p>\n\n\n\n 26. Zoology<\/p>\n\n\n\n Marks 275<\/p>\n\n\n\n The candidates are interviewed by a Board that takes into account their academic career. The marks scored in the interview are added to the marks scored in the written examination (Main) and the rankings of the candidates are determined on the basis of the total marks obtained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Total Marks: 2275<\/p>\n\n\n\n Marks shall not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Candidates will be required to apply online using the website www.apsc.nic.in.The online Applications can be filled up to the last day for submission as fixed by the Commission. The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available on the Commission website for downloading by candidates No Admission Certificate will be sent by post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n (a) There will be a penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Multiple Choice Question Papers as decided by the Commission. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers (as detailed below) for all questions except some of the questions where the negative marking will be inbuilt in the form of different marks being awarded to the most appropriate and not so appropriate answer for such questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n (b) There will be four alternatives for the answers to every question in Preliminary Examination. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n (c) If a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers happens to be correct and there will be the same penalty as above for that question<\/p>\n\n\n\n Commission will publicly disclose the scores of the candidates (obtained in the Written Examination and Interview\/Personality Test) through the public portals. The disclosure will be made in respect of only those candidates who will appear in the Interview\/Personality Test for the Civil Service Examination and are not finally recommended for appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The information shared through this disclosure scheme about the non-recommended candidates may be used by other public and private recruitment agencies to appoint suitable candidates from the information made available in the public portal A candidate may opt out of the scheme also and in that case his\/her details will not be published by the Commission.
